A video about my art inspiration. I base many of my dragons' colors and patterns on real-life reptiles, then throw in some fantasy details. I love reptiles; when I'm not doing art, I work with animals. I've worked with reptiles for over 30 years and have been a reptile breeder for the past 20 years. I keep boas, pythons, colubrids, lizards, and various frogs. I'm a former zookeeper and vet tech, and I studied pre-vet in college before becoming injured in a car accident. After my accident, I turned to my second love, art, because I wasn't mobile enough to work with animals for a long time. After my injuries healed, I landed my dream job as a zookeeper, but sadly, I was injured on the job and had to leave that job behind. Now, I have my own mini zoo at my house. My husband propagates corals, so we also have saltwater tanks and pet birds, and I can't forget my tortoises and a couple of dogs too! I'm sure I left something out, but there is always something going on in our house. My mornings are spent feeding and cleaning, the afternoon is a time for artwork, and then the evening is back to cleaning. It might sound hectic to some but I wouldn't have it any other way.
